Strong Grid and New Challengers Shine at Jyllandsringen

“Once again, we witnessed fantastic racing, this time in a very intense format where the drivers had to find the right setup for qualifying quickly while also taking care of the cars, as all activities, including two races, took place on Saturday with very little time between sessions. Despite the demanding schedule, the quality of the racing remained extremely high, and both races featured plenty of action and close battles. It was also exciting to see new, fast drivers joining the championship and challenging the established competitors. That bodes well for the remainder of the season, and we are looking forward to continuing the fight in August,” said Chresten Hansen, Race Promoter at Formula Automobile.

Brunsborg Dominates Trofeo Pirelli

The Trofeo Pirelli category saw the debut of Christian Brunsborg, although the young Dane is far from a newcomer behind the wheel of a Ferrari race car. Having previously impressed in Ferrari Challenge Europe with Formula Racing, Brunsborg quickly put his experience to good use at Jyllandsringen. He emerged as the standout performer of the weekend, claiming commanding victories in both races aboard his Ferrari 296 Challenge.

On both occasions, Andreas Borris finished second, while Sweden’s Cristian Appelberg secured third place in the opening race. In the second encounter, the final podium position went to Christian Nielsen, who shares the car with Frederik Nielsen.

Despite Brunsborg’s dominance at Jyllandsringen, Andreas Borris continues to lead the Trofeo Pirelli standings with 78 points. Frederik and Christian Nielsen follow with a combined 54 points, while Cristian Appelberg has moved into third place on 43 points.

Juulsen Claims Double Victory in Coppa Formula

The Coppa Formula category also welcomed a new contender in the form of Danish driver Rasmus Sandvej Juulsen, who enjoyed an impressive start to his Formula GT Challenge career by securing two victories in his Ferrari 488 Challenge EVO.

Behind him, Christian Crone continued the strong form he has shown throughout the opening rounds of the season. The young Dane left Jyllandsringen with a second-place and a third-place finish, while Ulrich Thomsen delivered similarly consistent performances with a third-place and a second-place result. The two drivers were involved in several close battles during the weekend and collected valuable championship points.

Christian Crone remains at the top of the Coppa Formula standings with 77 points, while Ulrich Thomsen has moved into second place on 51 points. Sweden’s Tommy Lindroth now occupies third place with 43 points.

Next Stop: Formula Racing Days

Following three successful rounds, Formula GT Challenge now turns its attention towards Norway. The next event will take place at Rudskogen Motorsenter on August 15-16 as part of Formula Racing Days. Expected to be the largest gathering of Ferrari enthusiasts in the Nordic region this year, the event will feature not only racing but also track activities, exhibitions and a celebration of Ferrari’s unique heritage and performance culture.

Formula GT Challenge will return to its traditional two-day format, while spectators once again will have the opportunity to experience the spectacular Ferrari race cars and their drivers up close.
